The Icelandic Santa’s are unique characters and have lived with the Icelanders for centuries. They are called Yule Lads, about which they can be found in Icelandic legend. Stekkjastaur - Sheep-Cote-Clod - 12. December

The first Yule Lad arrives on December 12. It’s called Sheep Cote Clod, and it drinks sheep’s milk and can drink many liters at night. Farmers need to beware of this Yule Lad every Christmas.

Giljagaur - Gully Gawk - 13 December

Next is Gully Gawk coming from the mountains 13. December. He is very energetic, hides with cows and drinks hot milk from them. Then he sleeps in the outhouses and packs Christmas packs there for the children.
